Snowed In

Last Thursday the universe finally granted one of my many, many wishes. And no, it wasn't boys (hmm... that would have been really nice, though. I'll have to try for that one next time). My wish for "time" was fulfilled by way of a Winter Storm and twelve inches of snow (in Texas just one inch of snow=snowed in. We Texans are just that lucky or winterly weather incompetent... whichever).

Yes, I said snow. In Texas! It's crazy.

Don't believe me? I took pictures. Check them out!

Arriving at work at 7:00 AM (praying for early release)!

Leaving work at 2:00 PM (wish granted)!

Isn't my home away from home so pretty???

I get to gaze out at these pretty trees every day from my third floor window (secretly scheming and plotting my escape).

You only thought I was exaggerating. It was seriously like a blizzard!

Still taking pictures at 1:00 AM. What can I say? I'm an insomniac!

I saw this on Saturday. It has to be the biggest snow man, ever. And yes, it was taller than their house.

I got so much stuff done during my 3 1/2 day vacation: reading, critiquing (sigh... I read about some dreamy boys. One by the name of Lucas.... sigh), housework (blah!), this pretty new layout you all are seeing today (which only took me six hours to fix), and even a little writing of my own (ha!). So, all in all, it was a very productive weekend. Man, I wish I got every Thursday and Friday off for snow days. Wouldn't that be nice?

Well, that's all I've got for today. I must now go start persuading the universe for those extra days off every week (or the boys... yeah, definitely the boys)!

Have a great Monday everyone!

  1. LOVE your new layout, Kimberly! It's fab!! These are great pics. I have a couple from Friday when we Georgians got some snow. That is the biggest damn snowman I have EVER seen!

    Have a great day!

  3. That's snowed in?! I'd love the feeling of joy of having at having a sprinkling of snow, rather than the normal 30" it takes here.

    I like the new look!

  4. A) LOVE the new blog look!

    B) MAN, is that TX?! Amazing! My mom said Houston isn't getting much of anything (i.e., she was bragging that it was 60 degrees and sunny yesterday) but me right now? I've got all that snow times about 10. I better get off work early... 'cause it's probably going to take me a few hours to get home!

  8. Love your new layout!!! fancy!!! Snowed in! Wow you weren't kidding! Here in Houston it just was a little chilly but no snow, so my dream did not come true! I would have loved to have sometime to write!!!

I have today off for a holiday, but I am not as productive as I'd like to be! I guess some days you got it and some days you don't~

  10. Gorgeous pictures!! Don't you wish it could stay like that instead of getting dirty and gray and then melting?! Sigh.

  11. Nicole - Thanks! It was a lot of work. And that snowman was HUGE!

Little Flower - We usually don't have snow here either. Snow = fun, only if you get a day off of work. : D

Jon - Thanks! And hey, don't make fun of us. Like I said, we're winterly incompetent.

Kristan - Thanks and yes it's Texas, I know. Crazy, huh?

PS - it's supposed to be 60 here this week. YAY!

  12. Gavin - Thanks! And yes, I live in Texas. But I have no Texas accent. A blessing in disguise. And snow like that is a rare here. : D

    Jennifer - Thanks! Happy Monday. : )

Eva - Umm... what did you say? All I heard (or saw) was Lucas. ; )

  13. Jen - No, for once I wasn't exaggerating. It really felt like we were snowed in. And don't feel bad, I haven't had it for the last two weeks. It happens... I guess. : )

Kristi - Well, I would tell you my secret... but, yeah, I can't. Sorry. : ) I'll start working on the universe on your behalf though. How about that???

    Happy Monday!

Kristin - Eww... I know. It got dirty and slushy fast. YUCK! : D

  14. Oh Kim - I know that Texas accent is hiding in there somewhere. In fact, I'm 99% positive I've heard some twang in that voice of yours before...don't deny it!

  15. Oh my word, I'd say you have a gift for photography as well as writing! How beautiful. And what fun to get snow in Texas. Yay for being snowed in!

  16. Snow in Texas? Wow!

Fantastic shots. I wish I was snowed in. Very hot in New Zealand, at the moment with 90% humidity!

  17. Are you one of those people who drive and take pictures at the same time? The same ones that put on their make-up while waiting at a stop light...or text message while they switch lanes? :)

  18. DL - Okay, I'll admit that I used to (a very long time ago) put my make up on while driving to work. A long time ago. But these pictures I actually stopped on the side of the road to take. I can't multitask anymore. : )

  19. Lalena - LOL! Shh... that's our little secret, remember. Amy's accent is way worse. And you should hear Kyan. OMG. I have a story to tell you. LOL. I'm laughing already. : )

I miss you. Where have you been?!

  20. Carol - Thanks! Those were pictures from my phone. It has a good camera apparently. LOL. Snow is fun, until it makes you stay in the house all day long. : )

I'm not complaining, though. I hope we get a blizzard every week. Yeah, that would be nice!

Wendy - I'm not a big fan of the hot weather either. I like my weather in the 60's and and 70's. Now that's a nice temp.

Thanks for stopping by! : )

  21. Wow! Beautiful pics. Found you through Tiffany Neal's blog. I'm another fellow Texan! I should post about the snow in Texas. Old news now, I'm sure, lol.

  22. I ALMOST mentioned Amy's accent; next to her any one would sound like a newsreporter complete with "non-regional dialect". Trudat.

I've been alive, working...slaving even you might say. I had an interview yesterday for a new position. It went really well and I'm beyond excited about it. Hope I get it!

Lalena - LOL! Trudat is right! ; )
