For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch came along.
With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment.
But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure who to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.
Hush, Hush... what can I say about this book? Hmmm.....
I'm not sure that words alone can effectively express the LOVE I feel for this book. For this one, I definitely need more than words. Maybe words, mixed with a myriad of blissfully, excited facial expressions, and lots and lots of exaggerated hand movements thrown in. Yeah, that may paint a clearer picture. But, then again, I'm not so sure that would even suffice in capturing the intense feelings I harbor for this book. Seriously.
I'll just say this:
Hush, Hush is the most freaking awesome book you will EVER read! EVER!
Okay, so now that we've got that all cleared up, I'll give you the 411 on this lovely book. First of all, did you see that cover?!?!
I mean, who could pass that and not pick it up?
But, there is more to Hush, Hush than its drool-worthy cover. The story, in fact, surpasses the lovely cover (yes, I actually just said that and I'm not kidding)!
Hush, Hush is Becca Fitzpatrick's first novel and it debuted at number ten on the New York Times Bestsellers List in October. It's no surprise, though. Hush, Hush is a fabulous story about a girl named Nora who reluctantly falls for the bad boy, Patch, who is of course, a fallen angel. (Duh! If you couldn't tell that by the cover... well, then there's no help for you.)
This book is action packed and is guaranteed to keep you flippin' those lovely, feather adorn pages into the wee hours of the morning. But Patch and Nora's attraction toward one another are the glue that binds each page and are ultimately what will suck you in and hold you there until you're gasping for air. The tension, danger and mystery of Patch will propel you forward, and like Nora, leave you craving more. And the kissing scenes..... sigh.... yeah, that's all I will say about that!
Becca's writing style is unique and a breath of fresh air. And, I believe, she is the master of comedic sarcasm. Seriously, I must bow down to her. I only hope that one day I can write even half as well as her.
So, if you don't like books that are masterfully written, have a great story line, contain dangerous and mystery ridden bad boys, hot kissing scenes, and, well, drool worthy covers, Hush, Hush is not the book for you.
But if you do like all of those things, especially hot kissing scenes with dangerous and mystery ridden bad boys, then Hush, Hush is DEFINITELY THE BOOK FOR YOU!
So be sure to pick up your copy today!
