Monday Review

Monday... sigh. It's Monday again, and per the usual I'm running late, again. So, because I'm running late, and because my fellow Twilight buddy Marsha brought to my attention that I haven't shared how much I loved the latest Twilight flick to hit the theaters, Eclipse, I've decided to do just that.

<<<======Plus, isn't that picture just the perfect way to start your week?? I think so. But anyway, back to Eclipse. I'm sure you all would be surprised for me to say anything other than: I LOVE IT! But that's exactly what I'm going to say, because I loved it!

I've read reviews where people have bashed this movie because: it was too slow in parts, or the action was too fast, or they just hate Twilight period. (Yet they felt compelled to stand in line with the hordes of Twilight fans to see it on opening day/opening weekend. Hmm... seem a little backward to you??). I, on the other hand, thought it was fantastic. Yeah, there were some slow parts, but have you read the book?? It's all about the slow parts. That's where the tension comes in between the hunky Jacob and the ultra-sexy Edward. That's pretty much what the entire book is. Should Bella choose Edward or Jacob? with the threat of the red-headed bloodsucker, Victoria, thrown in to make things more complicated.

In my eyes, I think they did a fabulous job turning Eclipse the book into Eclipse the movie. I mean, who couldn't LOVE all of the gushy scenes that filled this movie?? (Double sigh...) ===>>>>

So, I'm almost positive that NONE of you are surprised by my thoughts on Eclipse. But still, I just had to share them. (If for no other reason than to have a good excuse to post gushy Twilight pictures.)

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. I did. It was low key just the way I like them. I got a ton of reading done (The Carrie Diaries) watched a few movies (one of those movies being Remember Me. And now, I know I'm in love with Robert Pattinson. After seeing that movie, who wouldn't be??), and not much else. Pure perfection!!

I hope you all had a great weekend. And have a Happy Monday!

  1. Eclipse was epic! I loved every minute of it! Remember me was also very good, but sad, too. That ending...

Hope you start your week off fabulous!

  3. Eclipse was an awesome movie. I'm one of those whose only seen the movies never read the books but I enjoyed it!!

Happy Monday Kim! Oh yes the first picture was fantastic!

  4. I've read the books, seen the other two movies and just now realized my daughterling hasn't pestered me to take her to see this a second time. She SAYS she loved it, but hasn't gone to see it again, which seems strange since she saw the first two three or four times each.

  5. I too loved Eclipse Kim!!!! It was awesome! And after that last photo, well, looks like I'm going to HAVE to watch Remember Me too! It's sure to bring on the tears, which is the ONLY reason I have yet to watch it. But I'm due for a good cry...

  6. I haven't seen either movie. But sometimes it is just those slow parts in a movie, where so much is happening beneath the surface. I like subtleties like that in a movie. Happy Monday to you :)

  7. I thought the action scenes in Eclipse were fantastic (particularly when they were chasing Victoria through the forest! that was filmed in such a bad@$$ way!) and the tent scene worked better in the movie than in the book. But, I think Movie #1 will always be my favorite. There was just such a fun indie/low budget feel to it, that left everything more "raw" as opposed to produced.

Remember Me was an excellent movie - I remember being surprised/impressed!

  8. Eclipse is my favorite of the four books, so I am looking forward to the movie! I've been so busy, I haven't been able to go see it yet! Hopefully soon! I liked the other two movies, so I'm sure I'll like it! The book is always better so people complain, but I go in knowing the book will be better and just enjoy seeing it and the sexy vampires/weres onscreen. :)

  9. Yeah I already heard about the ending of Remember Me... don't think I'll be seeing that one. LOL.

My mom thinks Edward and Bella look too awkward together on screen (she thinks Kristen Stewart is gay and that she wishes Edward was a girl) hahahahaha.

  10. So loved Eclipse. I loved the book too. Better than New Moon so I was very interested on how it would be on screen. Loved it. I'm so in love with Jasper too. I will have to see Remenber Me. Looks interesting.

  11. I thought that they did a good job with Eclipse. It is so hard for a movie to measure up to a book. Period. The book will always win. Hands down. But, the movies do get better each time. I think that the more time that the actors spend as the characters, the more "at home" they feel. Just my opinion.

  12. I should have mentioned this when I was here before, but I forgot! Yeah, it is one of those days. However, I wanted to let you know that I left you a little *something* on my blog:-)

  13. "Eclipse" was definitely my favorite of the Twilight movies thus far. They seem to be getting consecutively better. I still think the movies (and the graphic novel, for that matter) don't do the novels justice since Twilight isn't an action-based book and doesn't really translate well to a visual medium, but I thought they did the best they could with the material. There's just only so much people will take of watching a movie in which the characters are sitting there and talking the whole time. In a book, on the other hand, it's fascinating. My only qualm with the movie: Robert Pattinson looks like a bad kisser. I mean, come on! Taylor showed him up, and he really only got one good one. Step it up, Pats. ;)

  14. I liked it too, and was so happy they kept the tent scene so much like the book! I thought everyone looked better, the acting was better, etc. The only thing that bothered me was the way K Stewart always pulls away when someone is kissing her. So annoying! For the love juju bees girl, let that boy kiss you!

I have a copy of Remember Me around, but haven't watched it yet. I know it will get interrupted numerous times, so that's why I haven't committed yet. Will have to watch it now for sure!

  15. Of course I love Eclipse too! And I just saw Remember Me for the first time last weekend. Not what I was expecting. I cried three times. And I actually loved him too, and I don't care for him in the Twilight movies... don't kill me for that haha.

  16. I didn't expect to like Remember Me, but I ended up really, really liking it. I thought it was well done and not just a movie showcasing Robert Pattinson to make a few bucks (which I thought it might be). Guess he plays a pretty darn good human, too. :)

  17. I heard that Eclipse was even better than New Moon. Glad you enjoyed it!

  18. Happy Monday, er, Tuesday! :)

I haven't seen Eclipse. Not sure I want to, really... although I should give it a chance. I've never read anything of the Twilight series!

Hope you had a fab weekend!

  20. Found you from DL Hammons blog today - loved your query letter spoof. but here I am commenting on this post instead because it's nice to hear someone finally say something nice about this movie. Lately all I seem to hear is Twilight and Edward and Bella bashing or spoofing.
