Nothing short of AMAZING!

Unless you've been hiding under a rock somewhere for the last week or so, I'm not sure there is anyone who hasn't heard about The Hunger Games.

I read the book a couple of years ago on recommendation. I'll have to admit, I was very skeptical at first. Kids fighting each other to the death? Come on. Definitely not my thing. One day later, however, I sang it's praises from the roof tops. It was AWESOME! I was wrong. No surprise there.

So anyway, back to the movie. It released this weekend, as most (everyone) know, and a group of friends the size of a small country and I ventured out to the midnight showing. IT WAS ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY FANTASTIC! Again, no surprises.

Katniss: PERFECT. Gale: PERFECT. Peeta: SO, SO ADORABLE. I'm a Team Peeta girl here, all the way! And the best part?? I was able to stay awake through the entire thing. Now that's surprising. Ha-ha.

Did anyone else venture out into the masses this weekend to see The Hunger Games??? What did you think? Can't wait to hear!!

  1. I did and loved it. I'm totally team Peeta (so freakin' cute). I will admit, I was team Peeta before the movie. Just sayin' :) I thought they did a great job.

  2. I'm still teetering between teams... I was team Gale all the way (even though he honestly wasn't in the books much until book 3), but after rereading book 1 and seeing how PRECIOUS Peeta was... UGH. He's seriously tugging at my heart. Sigh.
    Amazing movie!

  3. Oh man, I want to see that movie. (But, um, I need to read the book first) I know. Don't throw a shoe at me.

  4. I want to watch it again! It really was amazing. I think reading the book clues you in to all the important things that were left out of the movie. I'm happy it stayed so true to the original story. Now I have to read the other books!

Glad you had a fabulous time!

  5. Other than the irritating camera work in some sections, I thought it was a good film.

  6. I just read the books, so I'm really stoked to go see the movie. My husband wants to see the movie with me, but he hasn't read the books. How much at a disadvantage will he be?

  7. I took my daughter and a couple of her friends on Saturday and I'm taking my mom this afternoon. I was Team Gale all through the books, but Peeta sure is adorable!

  8. I haven't seen the movie yet - I'll probably wait until they're out for renting. With a baby, it's just too hard for me to get out lately ;)
